Ron Evans International Security Consultant
Biography
Ron served as a police officer for 30 years, with the last 14 years working in Special Branch in Scotland Yard.
During his time in Special Branch, he protected and advised on security matters for Margaret Thatcher, John Major, three Home Secretaries, two Northern Ireland Secretaries as well as numerous visiting heads of state, including Nelson Mandela, former US President George Bush and President Putin of Russia.
His responsibilities included making security arrangements with different agencies - both private and Government - whilst being sensitive and understanding of their needs. He supervised venue security, whether this was for a conference hall for a speech, dinner or hotel.
Ron lived with author Salman Rushdie at the height of the Satanic Verses furore.
He has travelled all over the world giving armed protection to government ministers from countries including America, Russia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka as well as extensive travel in Europe.
In his career, Ron has had to deal with and be sensitive to many different cultural and religious viewpoints. Working in these countries has given him a unique insight and expertise in this area.
